We are very sad to announce the passing of Mrs Peggy Carrick on Thursday 14th August.  There will be a thanksgiving service on Tuesday 2nd Sept 2pm at Swanton Morley Church.

Peggy Carrick was a phenomenal golfer who dominated the Norfolk Ladies scene for more than five decades.

A member of the Bullard family she won the County Championship in 1938 and 39 as Peggy Bullard and then as Peggy Carrick won it a further 9 times.  Winning in every decade from the 30’s to the 70’s.  Peggy was also County Captain 3 times (53, 63, 76) and County President in 94-96.  Peggy was Ladies Captain of Royal Norwich in 1939 & 46 and Ladies President from 47-57 where she was made an honorary life member for her services to golf.

Peggy won the national Mothers and Daughters championship an astonishing 22 times with her daughter Angela Uziella. A wonderful character and a great supporter of golf at all levels. Peggy was also a member at Hunstanton and Dereham Golf Clubs.

Peggy had spent her last few years in a home in Dereham where she passed away peacefully on Thursday.
