Karen Young wins the Norfolk Senior Ladies' Championship on her home course

Played on Friday 23 August at Eaton Golf Club, Karen recorded a round of 75 to lift the silverware along with a hole-in-one on the 13th, Dunton Hall’s Sue Henderson was runner-up with 78.

The handicap winner and runner-up were also from the home club, Sherrell Chuter and Ann Lockhart both with a nett 71. The winner of the Judith Mackinnon Trophy was Elaine Richards from Sheringham.

Karen said “she was thrilled to post a reasonable score and win in what was a strong field of players - the hole-in-one was a brilliant surprise as we didn't see it go in”. She will make a donation to the lady captains charity Star Throwers a cancer support charity in Wymondham.

The championship attracted 45 competitors, with the course in excellent condition reflected the scores posted on the day.
