It was golf across the county last weekend for the ladies in Norfolk. While the battle for the County Champion took place at Royal Cromer Golf Club, across at Rookery Park a number of Norfolk ladies were playing in the Eastern Region Final of the Bridgestone Chase Your Dream, the Regional Medal run by England Golf.

Of the 82 ladies who took part, the top ten go forward to the Grand Final  at Woodhall Spa in August. From there, the top nine qualify for the pro-am in the Bridgestone Challenge in September, the winning team earning a place in the Pro Am British masters, in Northumberland in September.

Dawn Futter from Great Yarmouth and Caister is on the way. After an early start, Dawn returned with a good score of 73, one under par. She had to wait a while, but when all the scores were in, Dawn was in 8th place, just 4 behind the winner. Susan Boast of Costessey Park, Bet Howson of Mundesley and Phon Green of Bawburgh were all placed in the top twenty. The competition was won by Paula Wendleken from Abridge Golf and Country Club,   with a score of 69 which included a hole in one at the 9th.
