Competition Guidance & Rules

Friday, June 5, 2020

Now that clubs may choose to run competitions provided social distancing and safety regulations can be strictly observed at all times, they must ensure that any necessary changes are implemented.

Most formats of competition play are permitted in current circumstances and a number of temporary amendments to the Rules of Golf have been made to accommodate the required safety measures.

If competitive stroke play is played, a method of scoring needs to be used that does not require any handling or exchanging of scorecards. The implications for handicapping purposes can be found on the CONGU website.
