2017 County Foursomes

71 points from 36 holes was a winning score for Sian and Abigail on Thursday 14th September at Swaffham Golf Club.

It was an early start and the weather did not look promising. With just a few ladies braving the cooler temperatures, many lined up to tee off in wet weather gear and winter warmers. In Foursomes, the golfers play alternate shots, so they both need too be on form if they are to come in with a good score.

After the first round, more than 60 ladies taking part were glad to come into the warm for sandwiches and tea (maybe even something a little stronger). “Not a good start…… could have gone better……..didn’t score until the third hole” were just some of the comments. No one, including the winners, Sian and Abigail, was happy with the score.

And then the sun came out. As they came to the tee for the second round, it was all smiles and laughter. Despite a quick shower, most teams were dry when they arrived back at the clubhouse, and many stayed to enjoy tea and cake and congratulate the winners.
