Margo Horsburgh has made history by being installed as President of the English Schools Golf Association for the next two years.

She is the first lady to hold the office in the Association’s 42-year history, was installed at their Annual Meeting last week, and follows her husband David, former secretary of the Norfolk County Golf Union, who was President in 2009 and 2010.

Margo steps up from the Association’s secretary, a post she had held for the past seven years while she was Assistant Secretary for the previous four years. She is also a member of the England Golf Tournament Panel.

A Scot born in Dunfermline, Margo is a Past Ladies’ Captain of Thetford Golf Club and has been secretary of the Norfolk Schools Golf Association for 15 years and is continuing in that role.

Living near Bury St Edmunds, Margo and David won the Sir Henry Cotton Award in 2007, given by the Golf Foundation, for services to junior golf.
