Entry Conditions

  • Only members of NLCGA are eligible to enter
  • The entry fee will be decided by the NLCGA Executive Committee.
  • The handicap limit will be as decided by the NLCGA Executive Committee.
  • The entry will be limited to the 60 lowest handicaps. If the competition is oversubscribed higher handicaps will be placed on a waiting list in handicap order. Players will be drawn in a split draw of handicaps PLUS TO 9 and 10 TO 14.
  • Entries will only be accepted by the closing date.
  • No refund of entry fees will be given for cancellation within 14 days of the event.
  • Any cancellations should be advised to the championship organiser as soon as possible
  • A CONGU Handicap Certificate for the current year must be produced before the end of play on day 1. Penalty for failure to produce proof of handicap – disqualification and not able to go forward to matchplay. Handicaps MUST be Competition/Active.


  • The Championship shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and Local Rules as may be approved by the Championship Committee.
  • Distance measuring devices are permitted in accordance with the Rules of Golf 2012- 2015, Appendix IV.5.
  • The Championship shall consist of two 18-hole stroke play qualifying rounds played on Day 1. Players with the best 16 gross scores shall qualify for the match play on Day 2.
  • Ties for the last qualifying places will be decided by card countback.
  • The matchplay draw will be made according to the automatic draw.
  • Qualifiers unable to play in the match play:
    • If the draw has not been made the next qualifier(s) will go forward for the draw
    • If the draw has been made the player(s) will be removed from the draw and the opponent(s) will receive a bye
  • If a player arrives at her starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after her starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is TWO STROKES in stroke play and LOSS OF HOLE in match play. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes, in the absence of circumstances that warrant the waiving of the penalty of disqualification under Rule 33-7, is DISQUALIFICATION.
  • The Committee reserves the right to arrange and/or alter starting times.
  • In the event of adverse conditions the Committee reserves the right to alter the format of the competition in order to achieve a result.
  • In all matters the decision of the Championship Committee is final.
  • Motorised buggies are permitted subject to the Transportation Policy of NLCGA.
  • Caddies are permitted. NLCGA request that caddies do not go onto greens.
  • Competitors may not engage a professional or assistant professional as a caddie.
